Bike Camp For People With Disabilities

Cycle Movement is partnering with I Can Shine to bring I Can Bike program to Centennial, Colorado, July 09-13, 2018. A week-long camp that teaches people with disabilities how to ride a conventional two-wheeled bicycle, in one week-75 minutes a day, for five(5) days. There are multiple morning and afternoon sessions. This camp isn't just for kids. People as old as 75 have participated in these camps. > Increase in self-esteem and confidence > Positive change in family dynamics > Inclusion with neighborhood friends > Independent transportation > Movement and recreation, building a healthy lifestyle and quality of life Requirements for Participation ( Rider must meet all of below criteria); > Minimum age-8 years old > Have a disability > Able to walk without assistive device > Willing and able to wear a properly fitted bike helmet > Able to sidestep to both side > Able to attend camp all 5 days > Maximum weight 220 IBs > Minimum Height of 40" or inseam of 20"(measure from floor while wearing sneakers) > Has parent/guardian who will stay for all sessions.
