Teacher Appreciation Week May 4-10, 2008
PEAK Parent Center offers families a way to honor teachers by providing free certificates of appreciation. Any parent of a child with a disability can download the certificate and present it to your child’s teacher during Teacher Appreciation Week.
Mattye Whyte Woodridge, a teacher from Arkansas, started the teacher appreciation process in 1944 to establish a national observance to celebrate the importance of great teaching. In 1985, the National Education Association and the National Parent-Teacher Association designated Teacher Appreciation Week as the first full week of May.
The downloadable PDF certificate (please see current news below to download) can be printed out, and you can hand write, your name and the teacher’s name on the certificate.
Or, if you would like to have PEAK input the teacher’s name and your name and then email the certificate to you or the teacher, please email info@peakparent.org with the following information:
· Teacher’s name
· Child and Parent’s name
· Email address to email the certificate
